Students of IFNTUOG are encouraged to launch start-ups that can change UkraineOn February 20, 2017 a meeting of the Environmental Engineering Institute students with the representatives of 1991 Open data Incubator, which operates with the support of USAID (United States Agency for international development) was held in the Ivano-Frankivsk national technical university of oil and gas. This is the first in Ukraine non-profit incubator that helps transform open government data into real startups that provide services to Ukrainian citizens, enterprises and public authorities.
The team of the incubator 1991 Open Data Incubator Ivano-Frankivsk Yevheniia Klepa (Director of the program in Ivano-Frankivsk), program coordinator Vitalii Rodymiuk (CEO IT company [bvblogic]) and Liudmyla Shyiko presented the activities and successful projects of 1991, and announced the recruitment for the second incubation program in Ivano-Frankivsk for projects that solve problems of the United territorial communities. In particular, On March 4, 2017 the hackathon of the presented projects will take place, the finalists of which will become residents in 1991 Ivano-Frankivsk and will undergo free incubation program.
Students got interested in participating in the project in the following categories:
Communication tools between citizens and the city administration
Tools to link the municipality and local small/medium businesses
The reform of capital systems: Transport/Energy/ Road/Waste/Housing
Awarding diplomas to international studentsOn July 6, 2016 the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas held diploma awarding ceremony for international graduates of the university.
This year more than 150 graduates from different countries received their diplomas and got their lucky tickets to the future, becoming a certified bachelors in the field of petroleum engineering, oil and gas geology and geophysics, economics, philology, and information technologies. Several students were singled out by the university officials for their exceptional skills and their participation in university activities. Some students were also awarded certificates for special achievements in the study of the Ukrainian language.
During the period of studies the university professors assisted students in both their studies and their life in Ukraine and also helped to become valued professionals, who would be in demand not only in their countries, but all over the world. They all became friends with their Ukrainian groupmates, and refer to Ukraine as their 'second homeland'. Students themselves created the unforgettable atmosphere at the ceremony. On their part, the graduates thanked all the professors for the skills they acquired as well as for their kindness and friendly attitude. Some of students spoke in the language which is now like a mother tongue to them – Ukrainian. The audience warmly responded to their speeches.
Moreover, during the graduation ceremony, the new graduates heard some parting words from their professors and university administration. The graduates also surprised the audience by performing their native songs and dances.
The graduates thanked their tutors, teachers, the Centre of International Integration of Higher Education for all the help, patience and efforts undertaken to help them adapt to living and studying in Ukraine throughout the whole period of their studies. They hope that their compatriots will follow their steps and will study at our university where they will have a choice from engineering and technical, economic and humanitarian specialties available at IFNTUOG.
Cooperation agreement signed with the University of Occupational Safety Management in KatowiceOn May 29-30,2017 the meeting with the President of the University of Occupational Safety Management in Katowice Malgorzata Sikorska was held in the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.
During the meeting, a bilateral agreement on cooperation was signed. The document outlined the main areas of collaboration which among others included mutual exchange of students with possibility of gettingdual diplomas. Currently the cooperation has beeninitiated with the Institute of Power Engineering and the Institute of Economics and Management in the oil and gas complex of IFNTUOG. On behalf of the University cooperation agreement was signed by the Vice-rectorfor scientific and pedagogical work, Professor OlehMandryk.
The agreement envisages collaboration in education and research to promote academic cooperation, organization of scientific trainings, scientific conferences, seminars, and monographs. Joint researches within the scientific programs and grants have also been planned.
Another powerful step towards the development of international cooperation of the university and its integration into the European educational and scientific community has been made.
